How the rating was compiled
The research center l’Argus de la presse conducted a kind of “investigation”, which of the French elite is most often discussed, which opinion is listened to, and who most often commented and “reposted” in social networks. To create this rating, the researchers had to analyze about 8 thousand newspapers and magazines, and also to look through 6 thousand programs on TV and radio and “monitor” more than 14 thousand websites. The sampling period of publications and programs was the last three months. When the research came to an end, the center shared its results and also offered its list of the 5 most influential women in France.
Segolene Royal
Topping the list was Segolene Royal, who is the unquestioned leader of the list and also holds the position of Minister of Ecology. During the three months studied by the employees of l’Argus de la Presse, the statements of the woman were quoted 16 thousand times, and it is not surprising, as Segolene is an ardent defender of the environment.
Najat Vallot-Belkasem
In second place was the head of the Ministry of Education. She was mentioned in the media about 9 thousand times, but she managed to actively express herself on Twitter. Najat had 157 thousand retweets and comments on her account, a result that even noble politicians of France might envy. Her most scandalous “tweet” was a statement that the Arabic language should be introduced in the first classes of elementary school, and Francois Hollande would be elected for a second presidential term.
Marisol Touraine
Marisol Touraine occupies the third line of the ranking and does not fall out of the media spotlight, as she constantly gives some kind of infopoint. She is the Minister of Health and under her leadership the reform of health and pension insurance in France is underway.
Elisabeth Bourne
Elisabeth is the first on this list whose area of expertise is economics and management. For a little more than a year, she has been in charge of the RATP, the largest transport company. It is a public transport company which operates the subway, the RER, partly the streetcar and bus lines in the capital city. The RATP’s 100% electric bus, the redesign of the Paris metro, the announcement of a 3,000-strong workforce, have all been credited to Elisabeth Born. And justifies her high media popularity.
Dolphin Ernott.
It is thanks to the merits of this woman that such popular TV channels as France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5 broadcast. She is credited with the phrase: “Our television is all white men over 50. She is at the helm of French television, so she can hardly escape the attention of the media. Thanks to her activities, the programs on the channels have become more modern and she has also feminized the airwaves. Between April and June, her name was mentioned 7,000 times on Twitter.
